LARGE TABLE ALTERNATIVE TO A PRIVATE EVENT

 

Small Parties:

Please note that it is not necessary to arrange a Private Event for lunch/brunch tables of 12 or fewer.  Instead, you may simply reserve a table and order off the menu.  You may or may not be seated in our second dining room.  Please do not plan on it. (see below to ensure seating in the Café area)

 

Larger Parties:

It is not always necessary to arrange a private event, even for parties of more than 12.  On certain days, we may be able to serve you at two or more large tables and allow your guests to order off the menu.  Tables will be located next to each other but each table will be served at slightly different times. A Large Party Fee of $40 will apply and a server fee of $50.  This arrangement is not suitable for a shower, wedding, anniversary, or other formal events.  It is suitable for a business lunch, a business birthday, or a casual get-together.

 

Café Seating:

We often seat larger parties in the Café room as opposed to the Kitchen.  However, if you wish to ensure that you are seated in the Café, you may pay a fee of $30 per table.

 

Extended Lunch/Brunch and Meetings:

For any of the above, if you are planning to hold a meeting or to linger beyond the usual 1.75 hours for lunch or brunch, please let us know.  There will be an additional fee of $40/table.

 

Private dessert fees and corkage fees (if you bring your own dessert or wine) charges may apply.  See below.

 

PRIVATE EVENTS

 

General Information:  Private lunch time events take place at one or more tables in the Boat Street Café.  The room is not exclusively reserved for the event and other guests may be seated nearby.  However, we will try to maintain a sense of privacy.

 

Exclusive Use:  The Boat Street Café may be reserved exclusively for your use for an additional fee of $250.

 

Available Start Times:  11Am to 1PM.  Events are expected to last no more than 2 ½ hours.  If more time is needed, there will be a charge of $75/hour.  All events must end before 3PM.

 

Group Size:  1-45 guests

 

Minimum:  There is a minimum food and beverage cost of $600 per event. 

 

Server Fee:  A $2.50/person server fee will be added to the cost of food and beverage.  The minimum server fee is $40.

 

Format:  Pre-planned lunches are usually served as a buffet.  More elaborate multi-course plated meals can be arranged. 

 

Decorating:  We provide flowers and candles as we see fit.  If you would like extra flowers, or flowers in a certain color range, please let us know.  We may be able to accommodate you at no extra cost.  Guests may not normally decorate the room although balloons, place cards, and guest gifts are allowed.

 

Food Cost:  The food cost for a private lunch will be slightly higher than similar food ordered off the menu.  Prices begin at $24/person and usually range no higher than $45/person.

 

Tax:  10%

Automatic Gratuity: 20%

 

Beverage Costs:  Billed at our usual restaurant prices.

 

Dessert Charge:  If you bring in your own dessert there will be a fee of $2.50/person.  If you order a dessert from us but bring in additional treats to be taken home, the Dessert Charge will NOT apply.

 

Corkage fee is $14/bottle; 4 bottle maximum.

 

Other Fees:  Other fees related to the cleanup of excessive wrapping, decorations, etc. may apply.   The usual charge is $50/bag.

 

Shower/Planner/Bridal Events:

If a bridal, a baby shower, an event involving a planner, or any similar event is to take place at the Boat Street, we must be informed in advance.  There will be a fee of $100-$250 depending on the size and complexity of the event.  This fee helps cover the extra time, labor, planning, and cleanup that go into such a party.    I would be happy to discuss the necessity for these fees with you in person.  These fees do NOT apply to birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

 

Custom Menus:

Please let us know if you would like to work out a Custom Menu.  Custom Menus are typically used for more formal events such as important meetings, weddings, anniversaries, or a baptism celebration, etc.  A Custom Menu may not any more expensive than a ‘Pick and Choose’ Menu (see below).
